Review the record at least annually.
For drivers covered by 49 CFR 391.25, carriers must obtain and review the required driving record at least every 12 months, subject to applicable exceptions. Keep the MVR and a note identifying the reviewer and review date in the driver’s qualification file.
Make the work easy to follow.
Confirm which drivers and licensing authorities are covered. Obtain and review the correct record, document the review and schedule the next one. Uploading a record alone does not complete a review.
Keep hiring checks separate.
Initial driver investigations have separate requirements. An annual MVR review is not a substitute for hiring checks.
